World record team
Skipper, Pete Bethune, chose the team for the 2008 round the world speed record attempt.
The team were made up of international volunteers.
Boat crew: Skipper, Pete Bethune (New Zealand); Navigator, Adam Carlson (Sweden); Mark Russell, Engineer (UK and USA); Rob Drewett, Cameraman (UK)
Ground crew: Fiona Clark, CEO (UK); Adrian Erangey, Operations Manager (Ireland); Celestino (Tino) de Freitas, Engineer, (Guyana and Portugal). The base crew travelled ahead of the boat to ensure fuel and supplies were at each of the fuel stops around the world. All the carbon emissions caused by their travel was offset through the purchase of carbon credits through downwithcarbon.org.
Base crew: Bev Bailey, PR and media (UK); Karolina Romanek, Administrator (Hungary); Ali Bradshaw, Adminstrator (UK); Sharyn Bethune, Administrator (NZ). Bev and Ali worked from London and Karolina worked from Hungary to oversee the return of the boat and kept the website going, whereas Sharyn monitored progress from New Zealand along with daughters, Danielle and Alycia.
